Hi Jerome,
in Education Queensland, we use OneSchool.

Hi Jerome
As an Education Support Centre, we don't use Griddle but have 2-4 EAs in each class. It would be helpful to be able to add the EAs to the classes.

Further Feedback

Hi Everyone,
This is something that would usually get configured as part of the timetable side of things, and we do have this feature currently available in Griddle, called "Support Classes" - where you can add the staff member, the students and location and this will automatically appear in Compass for all involved.
Otherwise, if you are not using Griddle, you can do this via School Activities, and set the repeating schedule using sessions for the involved staff and students at that time.
If you have any further feedback - keen to hear!
Thanks,
Jerome

I am going to be doing this with the new functionality in Schedule Builder that allows you to have two teachers assigned to one class. I have the class teacher and then assigned the aide to the class too so it shows up where they are located on their schedule.

Jerome Muldoon The problem with School Activities is it's not linked to the class the student normally takes.
They student isn't elsewhere - They are in their normal class; the aide comes to them. Depending on the day/session it might be a different aide.
If the class is canceled, or the room is moved - this information doesn't update in a separate entry.
Based on the timetable our aides use - it would be Monday 1 & 2 for a student / aide combo - regardless of which class it is.
Being able to attach it to the student directly regardless of class would also then document that the student is getting the support expected of them - if its 5 sessions of support, its visible on the student's page.

Scott DUNCAN Can we have up to 5 please? In Education Support there are generally a minimum of 3 staff in a classroom, often more and different staff on different days.

Hi Allison Mascurine - I don't actually work for Compass. I was referring to my school. I'm in a small primary school and we build our timetable directly in Compass through Schedule builder (not through a 3rd party timetable package).
That said, I did test adding in multiple staff in Schedule Builder and it seems you can add as many staff as you want.
You do need to contact Compass Support and ask to have the ability to assign more that 1 teacher in Schedule Builder turned on.
It does impact some other elements (if you use Daily Organisation to re-allocate classes) but for the most part I don't think the impact would be big.

Jerome Muldoon In Queensland we use OneSchool. There is a report we can export which is the Teacher Aide Master Timetable. Unfortunately it is only a pdf. Is there any possibility of importing this into Compass?

Jerome Muldoon School Activities isn't helpful when trying to see which class EAs are in. In Education Support Centres we have several in every class and they are very involved in classroom activities. It's also very difficult to manage staff availability and relief this way. We shouldn't have to go to multiple locations to manage relief and see which staff are in a classroom. EA's account for the majority of staff in Education Support.

Good idea. It would also be beneficial for teachers, helping them to know which Aides have been allocated to their classes.
