A new Attendance Code Visibility page is now available under the Tools menu (cog icon), giving schools more control over which attendance codes are shown to staff and parent/guardians, and the order they appear in.
Simply toggle visibility per code and audience, drag and drop to reorder, and use the search and filter functions (by code, reason, absence type, or visibility) to quickly find what you need. This is a great way to keep the attendance code or reason picker clean, relevant, and tailored to your audience!
Please note that new Configure.AttendanceCodeSets (automatically assigned to the CompassSponsor role group) permission, in addition to the existing Configure permission, is required to access the Attendance Code Visibility page.

Daina Peet Thank you for letting me know. Do you know if there is a separate space for WA to suggest changes? I have been voting for suggestions assuming they are for WA. Also, do I need to submit a new suggestion for this change specifying WA or is it already on the suggested list for WA? I am sorry for all the questions, we were really excited about this change so would like to make sure it is on the 'to do list' for WA, if possible. Thank you.

Natasha Picton - not a problem at all!
For WA Government schools, Compass sits within Program Kaartdijin. Some modules in the platform fall inside the Program Kaartdijin scope, and others sit outside it. Where a module is in scope, the Department of Education works alongside us at Compass to schedule the rollout of new features, so that releases line up with the Department's own change management and communication processes for schools. Anything outside the Program Kaartdijin module set is released to WA schools through Compass's standard release process, the same as everywhere else.
So there isn't a separate WA suggestions board. Our suggestions board is global, and votes from WA schools absolutely count, so please do keep voting and adding suggestions there. It genuinely shapes what we build, and it all feeds into making the platform as strong as it can be for schools everywhere.
For this particular feature, the best next step is to raise it with the Program Kaartdijin team at the Department, as they're the ones who coordinate with us on the timing of in-scope features for WA.😊

Re-order reason / attendance codes on Compass Kiosk Lite for late arrivals and early departures

Please provide the ability to re-order the list of reasons / attendance codes that appear on the screen for late arrivals and early departures. Currently the most commonly used code of 'Parent Choice, School Unapproved' is appearing at the very bottom of the list and is off screen. Parents are not scrolling down to find this option and are choosing the incorrect codes instead. Since the recent update, we are spending a large part of our day manually correcting the attendance codes eg 'Sorry Business' entered instead of 'Parent Choice - School Unapproved'. Also, can 208 - School Refusal / School Can't be added to the list for parents to select?

SInce the updated attendance codes/reasons, the 'Parent Choice/School Unapproved' reason has disappeared from the first screen. As a result, parents are choosing 'Sorry Business' or 'Medical Illness' unless we are doing it for them, or having to change it in the back end anyway. As 'Parent Choice' is one of the highest reasons for lateness or early departure, can the order please be changed so that it appears on the first screen?

Definitely need this feature! Our parents are just selecting which ever one they like which is making more work for our office staff. It is such a simple feature and I am gobsmacked that it hasn't been added.
Allow us to drag and drop or something. Not have to contact you to do it.

When a student is late or a student departs early, the order of reasons should be able to be school relevant. There are many reasons that do not apply but the most significantly used reason - PARENT CHOICE is at the bottom. Scrolling is something we will have to verbally instruct EVERY PARENT or STUDENT.

Update reasons for absence

On the kiosk, the new list of absence reasons has Parent Choice at the bottom, on 'page 2'. Many parents are getting frustrated with this, as it is frequently used. Your staff advised that we "don't have the option to alter the list in any way. this is predetermined by the DET." Therefore, can COMPASS change the screen format to make Parent Choice visible along with the other reasons of absence.
