This needs to be attached to a permission level that is not enabled by default for staff. I DO NOT want all staff to know all other staff birthdays. Staff are protective of what is a form of PII. You cannot undo a disclosure that this feature could enable.

We have just asked the same. Purely for admin as we do birthday cards for all staff. Year of birth does not have to be available just month and day. :-)

I really appreciate all the discussion on this one.

It is clear this is a change that could cause quite a bit of change management with schools, organisations, and users.

There is a lot to think about in regards to implementation - and the approach, and it is quickly moving to be quite a larger change than simply adding to digest.

I am suggesting that we will pop this one on hold for the moment while we tackle some of the more straight forward requests, and revisit this at a later stage.

In the interim, I would recommend that you configure a calendar layer for "Staff Birthdays" - and allow your admin staff to add these based on staff preference, or even allow all staff to add their own. This way it will appear on the schedule for the day for any staff who have "opted in" by adding their birthday to the calendar layer.

I feel like it needs to be just that it is possible to add an annual event. there are other events like remembrance day that happen at the same time every year. It should be at the discretion of the school whether they will add staff birthdays.

I think only admin can subscribe and only birthdate not age to be shown. We like to celebrate staff birthdays and put it in our staff newsletter and this would be a great way to keep on top of that.
