CompassTix Usher App Glitch
helena francis
Dear CompassTix IT Team,
We recently hosted an event at the College, and we implemented a ticketed entry system requiring guest check-ins via QR code scanning via your CompassTix Usher App. Unfortunately, we encountered significant issues with the scanning app, which caused frustration and confusion during the event.
Key Issues:
• When multiple barcodes appeared on a single page, the system scanned all barcodes simultaneously without indicating the number scanned.
• For bookings with multiple tickets (e.g., 7 barcodes), the system initially scanned 2 but failed to recognize subsequent barcodes.
Hovering over another barcode displayed an error stating the ticket was already scanned.
• This caused difficulties in verifying whether guests had entered using their tickets or those of family members.
The event had over 200 attendees (previously the same issues with our graduation event with over 600 attendees),
the challenges disrupted the smooth flow of the event.
Suggested Improvements:
1. Implement functionality to display the exact number of tickets scanned in each scan.
2. Provide a running tally of the total tickets scanned for the event organisers know how many guests were admitted at the end of the day.
This issue was raised previously last November but seems to not have changed or the app has not been upgraded/improved to address the issues.
We kindly request that this issue be addressed as a matter of urgency to ensure a seamless experience for future events.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Improvements and Additional Features for Scanning Application

I have worked with a number of event platforms in my role as the president of our local P & C and I'd like to say that the platform for ticket sales is really easy to use; but sadly, what let's this service down is the ticket scanning application.
To scan tickets onto the phone is clunky and cumbersome; we have tried phones, and we have tried I pads; both are hard to work with. The application regularly freezes, scans in multiple tickets by scanning one image or even completely logs you out of the program. Can you imagine as an usher of a large theatre event what that is like having over 100 people waiting to come into the show and your scanner fails.
We like to run professional events, and we feel like we are a joke when it comes to tickets scanning with guest after guest waiting at the door whilst we log in and fumble around trying to get the scanner to work.
Whilst writing we would also like to request an additional feature and that is for the system to show how many tickets have scanned in and how many not scanned; this will allow to know when to wait for 5 mins before we close the doors to the show if we have not scanned in volumes of tickets. In addition, we'd like to ask if you could develop your software so that we can add in auto QR code scanning devices would make it much easier. The system requires separate emails for every scanner which again when you are dealing with many volunteers is hard to set up and clunky.
We love compass tix in other areas, but parents are fed up with scanning debacles for each event and are begging us to go back to Eventbrite. It would be awesome to hear form feedback from Compasstix on how you can help.
